WhatsApp adds security feature

The developers of the WhatsApp messenger have begun adding new settings to improve the security of the users of the application. According to the company’s blog , account owners now have a way to hide some information about themselves for some contacts from the notebook.

According to experts, now WhatsApp users will be able to fine-tune which of the contacts can see the profile photo, information about it, as well as the time of the last visit and status. In the past, account holders were only allowed to block the display of last seen time and status under their profile photo.

It is noted that the option was introduced back in 2021, but only for some beta testers of the application. Currently, the settings inside WhatsApp have become available to all users of mobile versions of the messenger on Android and iOS. It is expected that after some time the function will appear in both browser and PC versions.
