Microsoft releases antivirus for Apple
Microsoft has announced the release of Defender antivirus for Apple gadgets , according to the Windows Central portal. The proprietary utility is now available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers.
Despite the fact that the antivirus has become a cross-platform program, the capabilities of the utility will differ depending on the operating system.
So, the mobile application will work as a simplified toolbar that connects to existing antivirus software or implements additional protection.
On devices running Android, anti-virus protection is also supplemented by the ability to scan the gadget’s memory for malware. Defender will also check links before opening them to protect against phishing.
Apple’s iOS and iPadOS mobile devices will have fewer available features compared to Android. iPhone and iPad owners will only be protected from phishing links.
Defender in Windows, in turn, will be supplemented with new features, including a dashboard where users will have access to data from other antiviruses.
